Cosmetic Surgery: A Better Sex Life?

Cosmetic surgery — including breast augmentation and body contouring — is known to make people look younger and feel better about themselves. Now new research suggests that it may also improve sex life and the ability to achieve orgasm.

The greatest sexual benefits were seen in women who underwent breast augmentation, breast lift, or body contouring procedures, according to the study, which appears in the January/February issue of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.

For many women, breast size is an important part of feeling attractive. Cosmetic breast enhancement or augmentation is one of the most frequently performed procedures in the US. The procedure is used to enlarge small or underdeveloped breasts, as well as breasts that have decreased in size after pregnancy.

Breast Implants: Silicone Or Saline?

Silicone implants have been off the market for more than a decade, but last year the FDA gave its stamp of approval to a new generation of silicone implants — implants that are not yet available to the public.

The FDA never banned silicone breast implants, but when the government restricted their use for cosmetic purposes, most women were limited to saline implants.
